Mobile Robotino

WorldSkills UK Mobile Robotics competitions focus on high level engineering skills such as planning strategies to solve problems, programming autonomous systems and understanding the use of sensors and actuators. A team of two competitors are required to programme a FESTO Robotino® and construct the robot to undertake a range of challenging tasks.

 Please note, to be considered for WorldSkills International competitions, teams must compete at the Higher Level using the FESTO Robotino.

 The competition is organised by Semta in association with VEX Robotics (open level), FESTO (higher level), Middlesex University and industry partners.

Who can enter?:

Open Level: This competition is aimed at all students or apprentices who are studying or working in robotics, design and associated industries. Each team requires a VEX Robotics Kit.

 Higher Level: This competition is aimed at Level 4 students who are studying or enrolled on a level 4 programme or have achieved a level 4 qualification in the last 12 months. (Up to level 4 for England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Up to level 7 for Scotland). Each team requires aFESTO Robotino.

How many competitors can enter from each organisation?:

This competition is a team event for two competitors. A maximum of two teams per organisation are allowed. 

How to enter this competition:

Follow these steps to ENTER the WorldSKills UK Mobile Robotics national competition.

•Step one: Review the competition overview and guidance materials

•Step two: Submit your entry from the 10 February to 21 March 2014

•Step three: We'll send entrants an invitation to the live heats, which take place between April and June 2014

•Step four:  Use the Competitor Preparation Toolkit to prepare for the competition

•Step five: The competitiors who achieve the highest scores in the live heats, will be invited to compete at the National UK Final to be held at the NEC from 12 - 15 November 2014
